Arco Ensemble "Under The Italian Sun"

Arco Ensemble performs "Under the Italian Sun", a concert of string music from Italy. The vibrant young Canadian conductor, Jean-Marie Zeitouni, will lead Arco in Nino Rota's Concerto for String Orchestra, Verdi's String Quartet (version for string orchestra), and Respighi's Il Tramonto, featuring mezzo-soprano Abigail Fischer. The orchestra and guest performers will be available for questions and conversation at the reception following this engaging hour of music.

Street Corner Symphony

Gerard Schwarz, internationally renowned Music Director of public television's All-Star Orchestra, will conduct Arco Ensemble in masterpieces for string orchestra. The program will include Grieg's Holberg Suite, Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, and Maestro Schwarz's own arrangement of the String Sextet from Richard Strauss's opera Capriccio. This exciting hour of music will be followed by refreshments and lively discussion with Maestro Schwarz and the musicians of Arco.
